Get Off My Lawn TCM

Has been the resounding accusatory email I have been receiving these days. How dare I attack the creative thread in horror that sustains the hip as well as the hop.

I am a big fan of Roger Corman and see nothing wrong with his humor or even camp in the later Poe films. There is no bigger fan of the Phibes films than myself loving the great Vincent Price and his ability to draw a smirk.

Such can be artfully done. Such examples already noted.

It is just the lack of professionalism in the TCM ads that cause me pause and the overall stupidity of casting and writing in the latter Universal efforts that cause my intestines to knot.

As writers we should take our craft and out genre seriously. Humor has its place and is more difficult to write than straight drama.

Be careful with those efforts and respect your subject and readers.

Cheap is plentiful. Art is unique.
