CLEANING UP AFTER has been published by THE CARNAGE CONSERVATORY

We are pleased to announce that CLEANING UP AFTER is on THE CARNAGE CONSERVATORY. A big thank you to Jeremy Maddox who aided me in getting this tale on track as this tale was a product of the Surreal Grotesque Writers Workshop.

PUMPKIN PITS will be published on 'The Carnage Conservatory'

A Third Runner Up in their contest will be out sometime today or tomorrow. It was tough to mix humor and gore. The stories were supposed to be gore, but I wanted to make the characters somewhat humorous. I experimented with character development and am happier with what I did with the characters rather than the entire tale itself.

But we are happy with the mention and the publication nonetheless.

We have joined THE BLACK RIBBON SOCIETY

At the invitation of Daniel Gonzales and the great SURREAL GROTESQUE we have joined the BLACK RIBBON SOCIETY webring. This ring is an association, so to speak, of writers, artists and publishers aligned to take horror back to its roots; to move away from the candy store sugary sweet junk food style of horror that has proliferated the scene; no sparkling vampires, no cuddly werewolves, no friendly ghosts. For those who want happy endings, I can suggest a number of establishments open, and periodically shut down by local authorities, that may fit your needs. But THE BLACK RIBBON SOCIETY is like minded horror aficionados who share a common philosophy against censorship and revisionism. Stop by josephjpatchen.weebly.com to click on the society to find more horror around the clock. I thank Mr. Gonzales for this opportunity to team up with and be associated with the talented writers and artists that make up this ring.

YARD WORK is on THE CARNAGE CONSERVATORY

My flash fiction tale YARD WORK is the on THE CARNAGE CONSERVATORY published today. We push some envelopes here but it is all in the name of 'reclaiming horror' as our good friend Jeremy Maddux of Surreal Grotesque says. Please give it a read; its stripped down straight out uneasiness.

Thank you to The Carnage Conservatory...

And Emily Smith-Miller for the kinds words and for including me in a list of writers for The Conservatory; writers whose works have been well followed and well recognized. As The Conservatory launches its new editorial policies I was cited along with Brittany Warren, Gill Hoffs, Peter Marra, Cheryl Anne Gardner and Phillip Andrew Wardlow; all by name and all writers whose work I greatly respect. The Conservatory has been good to me and has allowed me to write the edgier horror that at times simply tumbles out. I am humbled to be included on this list and blessed to be part of this wonderful ezine.
